(ASQ: Milwaukee) -- Through the use of quality improvement initiatives, the city of Milwaukee is improving services and increasing efficiencies citywide.

From boosting the number of children immunized from 45 percent to 78 percent, to reducing the number of worker compensation claims from 3,097 to 2,225, quality tools are helping the city be a better steward of the community’s resources.
As part of its continued commitment to performance excellence, the city joined the Milwaukee-based American Society for Quality (ASQ), the world’s leading authority on quality that provides the tools, concepts, and methodologies that increase business performance. The city of Milwaukee is ASQ’s first municipal site member.
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and ASQ CEO Paul Borawski acknowledged the membership at a city hall event on On Aug. 28, 2012.
