Next year will mark the 70th anniversary of the general public’s exposure—via the very unfortunate atomic bombing of Hiroshima—to relativity theories. This year, perhaps, global carriers and forwarding companies will have realized that logistics is much more than simply moving merchandise from one point to another. Given these two concepts, dare we hope that a firm grasp on the relativity of transportation logistics can’t be far behind?

There’s no doubt that energy somehow equals matter, and vice-versa, but let’s play the skeptic and suppose that the massive amount of energy used to move goods worldwide has nothing to do with their actual mass. That situation would create a great deal of waste, wouldn’t it? But what if, instead, we could add value to the goods we move while we transport them? Wouldn’t that be an advantage? Not only for saving time and transportation energy, but also for adding value to the goods themselves?
