(Altshuller Institute: Worcester, MA) -- The Altshuller Institute for TRIZ Studies, one of two global organizations that has developed a viable TRIZ certification process, has elected H James Harrington as the institute's president. Harrington is considered the father of the business process improvement methodology that is used throughout the world to streamline business processes. He's the author of more than 45 books on performance improvement, many of which were original concepts that he developed, and has two new books on innovation that will soon be released. One of the books defines the 75 tools and methodologies that are the most frequently and most effectively used by innovation professionals. TRIZ methodology makes up a big part of that book. His term of office will start Feb. 1, 2015.

Harrington is past president and chairman of ASQ and past president and chairman of the International Academy for Quality. For the last five years, he has had a working relationship with Ideation International Inc., which provides analytical services and software for TRIZ. He's presently working with the UAE government to implement a qualification program for government agencies related to innovation.
