Fundamental Attribute Error
Hello Michelle:
Fantastic article!! Your article reminds me of the concept called Fundamental Attribute Error. Humans do it all of the time. We attribute observed behavior to the wrong thing. We make assumptions based on how we fit stimulus into our mental models. This all fits into your article and compliments what you are sharing. As we repeatedly make attribute errors, we climb the ladder of inference. We infer one thing incorrectly which leads us to the next incorrect step on the ladder. Over time, we climb the ladder of inference and reach incorrect or non-optimal conclusions.
Thank you, Dirk
