Minitab Inc. recently released MINITAB 14.2, a Japanese-language version of its award-winning statistical analysis software. Minitab launched its original Japanese-language version of MINITAB in 2004. The new release improves translation and adds several features developed in response to customer requests and suggestions, including:
- New statistical capabilities, such as chi-square goodness-of-fit tests for single-categorical variables and Poisson distributions
- Enhanced quality tools, including the addition of a one-sided tolerance option for crossed and nested gage R&R commands
- Expanded graph-editing capabilities
Minitab has partnered with Tokyo-based Kozo Keikaku Engineering Inc., an independent engineering consulting firm, to provide sales, technical support and training services in Japan. Minitab also offers free Japanese-language technical support for Release 14.2 through an online request at KKE’s tech support site (www2.kke.co.jp/minitab/techsupport.html). Users will receive an e-mail response directly from a Japanese-speaking technical support specialist.
