Body
The American National Standards Institute recently added upward of 13,000 Chinese national standards to its online offerings. The addition increases the number of international standards available at the site to more than 83,000. The ability to access and purchase Chinese standards easily will simplify the procedures, guidelines and requirements necessary for companies to do business in the People’s Republic of China.
The full text of the standards is currently available in Mandarin, and document titles are available also in English. ANSI reports it expects to provide the abstracts for nearly 1,000 of the most-requested Chinese standards in English by the middle of the year.
In a reciprocal agreement, the Standards Association of China and the Standards Press of China will distribute an ANSI-approved collection of U.S. standards in China.
