TÜV America recently received accreditation to the SQF Program, a certification program for managing food safety and enhancing food-chain quality systems. The SQF Program is managed by the Safe Quality Food Institute and provides two standards based on the type of supplier. The SQF 1000 Code is designed for primary food producers, while the SQF 2000 Code helps manufacturers with product identification, and trace and recall requirements. Both codes are based on the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) method and principles.
TÜV America is one of three North American registrars accredited to perform SQF 1000 and SQF 2000 audits. The other two are and NSF International and SGS.
