CIGNA HealthCare Corp. recently launched a lab that will develop integrated Six Sigma-level end-to-end service for its medical, dental, pharmaceutical and behavioral health plan participants. The "Innovation Lab" will be staffed with 100 specially trained consumer advisers representing CIGNA’s service, clinical and product teams to discuss health benefit and related financial information, to help consumers optimize their health benefits and plan selections. The lab will represent a single contact to respond to inquiries about CIGNA plans, providing information about:
- Health care cost estimates and treatment quality information
- Guidance during pre-plan enrollment to help consumers choose a health plan that fits them
- Connect consumers with consumer advocacy, wellness or disease-management programs.
Among the first customers for the lab is Big Y Foods in Springfield, Massachusetts. Big Y is one of the largest independently owned supermarket chains in New England and operates 54 stores with more than 9,000 employees.
