National Technical Systems Inc., an engineering services provider, recently acquired Dynamic Labs, an environmental testing laboratory.

The acquisition marks the growth trend that NTS has established in the past few years, company officials report. Dynamic Labs operates facilities in Phoenix, and Austin, Texas. Its Phoenix office offers electrical-mechanical inspection and environmental and dynamics testing for the aerospace and defense industries, including tests to RTCA/DO-160, MIL/STD 810, MIL-STD 461, as well as many commercial and American Society for Testing and Materials specifications. The Austin lab offers all of the previously mentioned testing and can also accommodate larger test items than the Phoenix location.

“Companies may not have the testing capability or capital to invest in large testing programs,” says Derek Coppinger, NTS director of corporate development. “They do, however, need the testing completed and want it performed locally to help reduce costs and ensure a fast time to market. This is where NTS provides the solution.”
