GE Healthcare and Virtua Health will host a Lean Healthcare Workshop, the organizations’ second training collaboration this year.
The workshop will be held at Virtua Health’s facility in Voorhees, New Jersey, Oct. 22–27. It follows a similar event that was held in March and received positive participant response and impressive results. Dr. Narenda Kini of Trinity Health will address lean’s relevance to health care. Other speakers will lead kaizen events and discuss eight types of waste that are prevalent in health care: medication errors, overproduction of medical equipment, inefficient inventory uses, inefficient patient movements, excessive processing, excessive patient transportation, wait times, and underuse of facilities and services.
