EPCglobal Inc. has awarded its compliance mark to Sirit Inc.’s 510 UHF RFID reader, making the device the first to get European and U.S. dense reader mode (DRM) certification.
The EPC certification means that hardware operates according to EPCglobal standards, including the UHF Generation 2 version 1.09 standard. The DRM operation dramatically reduces interference between readers when many are used in close proximity to one another.“We extend our congratulations to Sirit’s team for being the first company to achieve DRM certification in multiple markets,” said Chris Adcock, president of EPCglobal Inc. “EPCglobal’s hardware certification mark provides end users with the confidence that the products they are purchasing have been rigorously tested and will perform in predictable ways according to EPCglobal standards.”
