InfoWorld’s 2007 Technology of Year Award has gone to Zimbra, a provider of open-source, next-generation collaboration and messaging software.
The Application Innovator Award went to Zimbra Collaboration Suite, an open-source messaging and collaboration solution for service provider, government, enterprise and academic environments.“The Zimbra community is committed to innovation, and we’re thrilled that its efforts have been recognized by InfoWorld’s Test Center analysts and editors,” says Satish Dharmaraj, CEO of Zimbra. “Our community continues to drive market-leading additions that offer the industry a real alternative to proprietary systems with outdated feature sets, and we look forward to sharing those with InfoWorld’s readers in 2007.”
InfoWorld’s 2007 Technology of the Year awards identify the highest-scoring technologies and products reviewed by its test center in the past year that are likely to have the greatest effect in the coming year. The awards are closed to outside nominations, and final selections are made by InfoWorld’s test center editors and analysts.
