John Cachat is a visionary and an expert in developing information technology strategies for large and small organizations. Mr. Cachat is a frequent speaker at leading industry events and the author of several publications and white papers. Mr. Cachat is currently consulting on innovative manufacturing enterprise systems for compliance to international standards that reduce risk and cost. Mr. Cachat specializes in enterprise strategies to define integration of ERP, PLM, and MES technologies. Mr. Cachat is focuses on Six Sigma. Lean, EH&S and quality management (TS16949 Automotive, AS9100 Aerospace, ISO13485 Medical Device).
Prior Experience - Mr. Cachat founded IQS, Inc. in 1988 and since its inception the company has been a leading global provider of enterprise management and compliance software to the manufacturing industry. Mr. Cachat started his professional career as a coop student at the General Motors Institute (now called Kettering University). Upon graduation, he was quality engineer for General Motors and then became an instructor of Statistical Process Control at Texas A & M University. Prior to his graduate studies, he was a Manager of Quality Engineering for a major aerospace subcontractor.
Education - Mr. Cachat received a BSIE degree at the General Motors Institute (GMI) in Flint, MI specializing in Operations Research and received recognition for both the Entrepreneur of the Year and Outstanding Alumni Achievement awards. John also holds a MSIE degree from Texas A & M University, specializing in automated manufacturing. In addition, he is a Certified Quality Engineer.
Mr. Cachat has been recognized by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) for dedicated service. Mr. Cachat is also Chairman of the ASQ Management Division Global Supply Chain Committee and is a founding member of the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) e-APQP committee that is creating XML standards for the transfer of quality information across the automotive supply chain. Mr. Cachat is an industry visionary in the use of the Internet for Customer/Employee/Supplier Portals, Executive Dash Boards, and Web Based reporting systems.
