John Wenz is the digital producer at Knowable Magazine. Wenz was an  editor at Astronomy Magazine, a news writer at Popular Mechanics, and a long-time freelancer, with his writings appearing in Discover Magazine, Scientific American, Smithsonian Magazine, and many others. He’s traditionally written about astrophysics, but loves a good fossil study too, and can go on and on about storage medium rot. His first book, The Lost Planets, was released by MIT Press in October 2019.
