Micropelt GmbH started as a project of Infineon Technologies AG in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Physical Measurement Techniques (Fraunhofer IPM) in Freiburg, Germany. Micropelt develops, manufactures, and vendors thin film thermoelectric components based on semiconductor manufacturing processes, using planar technologies and silicon wafers as substrates for Peltier cooler and thermogenerator devices. Markets are: chip spot cooling, biomedical (PCR cycler), heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), fiber optics, and energy harvesting for low power applications. Located in Frieburg, Germany.
