Value has found a place at the heart of healthcare innovation. For money-conscious governments and other actors in the system, it’s not enough that a new treatment be beneficial and safe. It also needs to be cost effective.

Stephen Chick is a professor of technology and operations management, and the academic director of the Healthcare Management Initiative at INSEAD. He directs the following Executive Education programs: Middle East Health Leadership, Strategic Innovation for Community Health, and Innovating Health for Tomorrow. He received his MSc and Ph.D. in industrial engineering and operations research from the University of California at Berkeley, and his BSc in Mathematics from Stanford University. Prior to joining INSEAD, he taught process modelling, simulation, and information systems as a faculty member at the University of Michigan.
