Vijay Iyer, M.D., is a board certified interventional cardiologist and the medical director for cardiac services at the Buffalo General Medical Center. Iyer believes it’s the physician’s responsibility to educate patients in a straightforward and open manner about the different treatment modalities. Iyer trains residents and cardiology fellows, mentors their research projects, and oversees cardiology fellows in outpatient settings. His research interests are in new devices for aortic and mitral valve replacement, novel therapeutics in the form of stem cells, and newer therapies for acute coronary syndromes.
