You may have heard about the company back in 2010 when its Urbee 1 (short for Urban electric) 3D-printed car made the news... tech news, anyway.

The latest incarnation of the Urbee is the Urbee 2, a two-passenger vehicle with a bit of storage in the back, about the same room as the original Honda Insight. The Urbee 2 is a parallel/series hybrid employing electric motors to drive the front wheels and a small, 4-cycle diesel (5 hp at 2,200 rpm) to charge the batteries or supply power to the front wheels. Weighing just 1,700 lb and with a coefficient of drag of only 0.15, Urbee 2 should be able to get about 290 miles per gallon, according to computer modeling.
