question for Dr. Sanjay Mishra about How mRNA Vaccines Work
Dear Dr. Sanjay Mishra,
I have read your great article How mRNA Vaccines Work and have a question for you. When the genetic instructions of the viral protein are injected into the upper arm, the muscle cells translate them to make the viral protein directly in the body. Then, the spike protein built by the muscle cells will be considered a self-protein; how the immune system of the host body can recognize that it is different?
Please give me a reply. Thanks a lot!
Sincerely Yours,
Ziping Zhang
