It seems every day we view “breaking news” reports on television or read about a particular event in the paper that catches our attention. It might be acres of brush fires that level hundreds of homes, a new law that restricts the number of calories that can be consumed in school cafeterias, or maybe something as mundane as the “balloon boy” and his ill-fated, fabricated trip into the stratosphere. The stories seem to disappear from the media shortly thereafter, and we are left to ponder the final outcome or what is transpiring now in the lives of those affected.

Having said that, I thought it would be interesting to return to several of my columns from the past year and determine if there is an update that bears mentioning. Besides penning an occasional column for Quality Digest Daily, you might be able to discern from my bio that some of my… ponderings appear in other publications across the country. This column then also includes some of those writings. So as the current Budweiser beer commercial exhorts: “Here we go!”
