Back during the early 1960’s, a television program called That Was the Week That Was, hosted by David Frost, took over the airwaves with millions of ardent followers tuning in each week. The satirical comedy program took a look at the events of the previous week and poked fun where appropriate, which was most of the time. The show was entertaining and never seemed to run out of material.

Here in Detroit we recently had a week jam-packed with excitement and fun, something that has been missing for quite some time. It was our own That Was the Week That Was. Yes, we have some warts on the cultural landscape here as we try to play down the “Murder City” moniker and the highest unemployment rate in the nation, so a week that uplifts the community was a welcome relief.
